We head towards the Nyhavn district, a short stroll between canals, barges and numerous bicycles parked along the quays.
Here is Christiansborg Palace, the seat of the Danish Parliament with its equestrian statues, as well as the statue of Admiral Niels Juel, and the red brick church of Holmen.
It’s impossible to visit the Danish capital without seeing the colorful quays of the Nyhavn Canal.
Colorful historic houses, small moored boats, numerous terraces and restaurants along the waterfront—it’s the perfect place to be.
We’ve decided to find a restaurant here, it’s a great atmosphere.
Tonight, our first dinner was on the banks of the Nyhavn canal.
I really love seafood and tasting the specialties of the countries I visit.
Fresh oysters as a starter, “Stjerneskud” as a main course (shrimp, asparagus, and lemon).
The verdict: truly delicious and with a magnificent view of the canal. It’s the most touristy street in Copenhagen, but you feel really at home.
As for drinks (*Warning: alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health), I tried a Danish Carlsberg beer on tap, and as a digestif, the famous Akvavit from the Aalborg brand.

The Nyhavn harbor canal is even more magnificent at nightfall.
