Vosges Mountains in Alsace, on the way to the Linge Memorial, a major historical site of the Great War (World War I).
We arrive at the Linge Memorial (Der Lingekopf, The Linge) 1915, a historic site of the First World War between France and Germany (the Vosges and Alsace were occupied by Germany at this time).
We begin our visit at the Linge Memorial (outdoor part, where there are the trenches from the First World War, which are in an almost intact state).
Following our visit to the Linge Memorial, we can even visit on foot and walk (it’s a Memorial Trail) among the trenches and barbed wire of the First World War!
A place steeped in history and very well preserved.
Here are the last photos of our visit to the Linge Historical Site (1st World War, between Alsace and Vosges): An armored observation turret and artillery pieces.
