Every July, for over a hundred years, the village of Seui has celebrated the Festa della Madonna del Carmelo (Su Cramu), a deeply respected local religious festival.
The faithful walk to the church of the Madonna del Carmelo, perched on a rock where a statue of the Virgin Mary stands.
Here are my photos (I had to get up very early!): a parade in traditional Sardinian costumes, with flags, banners, horses, and oxen…
A walk through Seui during the Sardinian Festa della Madonna del Carmelo (Su Cramu).
After Seui, we’ll head to the magnificent Sardinian beaches.
Head to “Spiaggia Piccola di Su Sirboni โ Piscina”, not far from Marina di Gairo (Cardedu).
A small, famous beach, with a clear Caribbean-like sea and impressive red rocks.
Near Seui, in the heart of the Gennargentu massif, is the Nuraghe Ardasai.
Sardinian history is very ancient.
We cross the wild mountains of Ogliastra, in the Gennargentu region of Sardinia.
We discover unspoiled landscapes, wild goats and horses, and also the Nuraghe Ardasai (a remnant of the Nuragic civilization, 1500 BC).
