๐ฎ๐น Murano (Venice)
After Burano, I headed towards Murano in the late afternoon.
Unfortunately, I arrived too late, meaning I couldn’t visit the famous Glass Museum (Museo del Vetro) or the glassblowers’ workshops.
I took the opportunity to stroll through the picturesque streets of Murano, and especially:
– The canals and brick bridges
– “Basilica of Santi Maria e Donato”
– The Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli
– The Clock Tower
We continuing our stroll around Murano, we discover the island’s artistic soul, with frescoes paying homage to master glassmakers, glass sculptures, works of art, and numerous small shops selling souvenirs and glassware.
The narrow streets are magnificent, but I still much prefer Burano !
Dinner tonight in Murano (in “Ai Vetrai” restaurant) is quieter than in Venice !
As usual, I’m only ordering local dishes and specialties.
– Cuttlefish in its ink with grilled polenta
– Spaghetti “alle vongole” with fresh clams
We’re off to return to Venice by Vaporetto.
