This morning, visit the Naval History Museum of Venice (Museo Storico Navale), not far from the Arsenale.
It houses an impressive collection of models of ships, galleys, uniforms, and gondolas from the period of the Venetian Republic, once the undisputed master of the Adriatic Sea.
The second part of the tour is the Naval History Museum of Venice, the “Padiglione delle Navi,” located in a hangar, where you’ll find numerous old ships (life-size), as well as old sea mines.
If you can, I recommend also booking a tour of the Enrico Dandolo submarine, the famous “killer submarine of the Cold War” (46 meters long, 5 meters wide).
