๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Milan – Navigli

We arrive in the city center of Milan, an opportunity to (re)visit the majestic Milan Cathedral (the Duomo), the magnificent Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and a little further on, the Piazza Mercanti (in the Middle Ages it was the commercial and government center).

The tram network has existed in Milan since 1876, and several old historic trams (almost a century old) still run today.
The most famous are the 1500 Series (manufactured around 1928-1930), yellow in color and with a vintage wooden design. https://www.instagram.com/p/DPY8JDwDBt4/

We are in front of the headquarters of the Italian Stock Exchange (Palazzo Mezzanotte), located in Piazza degli Affari.
The most notable feature is the enormous sculpture L.O.V.E. (Libertร , Odio, Vendetta, Eternitร ), or “Il dito” (the finger). All the statue’s fingers are cut off except for the middle finger…

We are on the Ponte di Iron Enrico Molteni, with a magnificent view of the Naviglio Grande and the terraces of the Navigli district.
This is the perfect neighborhood for going out, having a drink, and partying in Milan, especially in the evening. https://www.instagram.com/p/DPY-0phDP0w/

Dinner tonight at the Vetusta Insigna Restaurant, on Via Alzaia Naviglio Grande in Milan.
We ate inside, up high with a good view of the canal, and delicious dishes: Three-fish tartare (tuna, salmon, and Mazara shrimp with fennel), and octopus with potatoes.

Where are we tonight? Venice? No, Milan at the Navigli, there are gondolas!
Great atmosphere here in the evening, the perfect place to have a drink, stroll along the waterfront, and eat in very good restaurants at affordable prices in a picturesque setting.
There are even street concerts, and we even had the chance to listen to the band @i.ciapamatt!

Milan is a must-see day and night, especially the Duomo (Cathedral) and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
And, as usual, it’s the perfect opportunity to grab a gelato (Italian ice cream)!
