In the city center, in the middle of the park and across from the National Assembly, stands the magnificent Nativity Cathedral of Chișinău (Catedrala Mitropolitană “Nașterea Domnului” din Chișinău in Romanian).
It is a Moldovan Orthodox cathedral, built in the 1830s and the seat of the Russian Orthodox Church of Moldova.
Walking along Stefan cel Mare Boulevard, here is the Triumphal Arch of Chisinau, a monument commemorating the victory of the Russian Empire over the Ottoman Empire in the Russo-Turkish War of 1828-1829.
Walking along Stefan cel Mare Boulevard, you’ll find the Presidential Palace of Chișinău (Clădirea Președinției Republicii Moldova).
It is the official residence of the President of the Republic of Moldova, built in 1984.
The building was originally designed to be the new headquarters of the “Supreme Soviet” of the Moldavian SSR.
