We headed to Plaza de España (Gran Vía Street), where Madrid’s highest rooftop is located, on the 26th and 27th floors of the Hotel Riu Plaza España.
It’s an ideal place for a drink, a great 360-degree view of Madrid, and you can also walk on a suspended glass walkway (not for those with a fear of heights…).
I recommend getting skip-the-line tickets if possible, as the wait was long.
After more than an hour of waiting, we reached the top of the Hotel Riu, at the 360º rooftop Sky Bar terrace.
The view is magnificent, it’s worth it!
We had Spanish tapas, super super good, and with a magnificent view of the city.
– Anchovies with Parmesan (Italian version)
– A platter of Iberian ham
– And cocktails (also available in non-alcoholic versions, of course)

360-degree view of Madrid at sunset and night from the Rooftop Piaza Espana.
We walk over the void, more than 100 meters high on a glass walkway at the top of Madrid’s highest rooftop on Plaza de España (Gran Vía street), at the Hotel Riu Plaza España.
Great atmosphere here, with music, shows, DJs, drinks, cocktails, and top-notch food: marinated anchovies with Parmesan, Iberian ham (cerdo ibérico)…
