Friday 29 May 2026, waking up by the water in the Vosges. Opening the tent onto the Moselle in the sunshine is pure pleasure. And when it’s hot, you can swim straight in the river, where the water is pretty warm.
A Calabrian deli in the Vosges
Nice surprise in town: a real Italian deli from Calabria, which also makes pinsa. We didn’t expect to find that in Charmes.
Tête de veau at Le Maxevoy
In the evening, dinner at the restaurant Le Maxevoy in Charmes for tête de veau, calf’s head. A traditional dish that isn’t for everyone, but here it’s very good. Note that booking is required, and there’s a terrace in summer.
