Friday 7 August 2026, a last morning in Rouen before heading back east.
Street art on Rue des Charrettes
Rouen isn’t just half-timbered houses: on Rue des Charrettes, near Rue Jeanne-d’Arc, the walls are covered in street art.
Place du Général-de-Gaulle and Napoleon’s statue
In front of the town hall, Place du Général-de-Gaulle is home to the equestrian statue of Napoleon. A big open space, quiet in the morning.
Lunch at La Belle Époque
For our last meal in Rouen, La Belle Époque: a very simple but delicious dish in a 1900s setting.
Épernay, at Moët & Chandon
On the way back, a stop in Épernay, on the Avenue de Champagne, in front of the Moët & Chandon house. A nice way to end this road trip.
