Wednesday 15 April 2026 in Copenhagen. A walk in Frederiksberg Have, one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the Danish capital, laid out around Frederiksberg Palace.
The statue of Frederick VI and the storm
We pass the statue of King Frederick VI, “Frederik den Sjette”, just as the sky suddenly darkens. The wind picks up and black clouds roll over the park: in Denmark the weather changes fast, and it makes for some pretty dramatic pictures.
Ducks and ducklings
Along the park’s canals, a whole family of ducks is out with its ducklings. A very peaceful moment, just before the rain.
Practical info
- Frederiksberg Have: free park in Frederiksberg, west of the city centre.
- Getting there: metro to Frederiksberg station, then a few minutes on foot.
- In spring, bring a rain jacket: the weather changes very quickly.
