Der Streetfood-Markt Reffen in Kopenhagen

🇩🇰 Copenhagen - Street food at Reffen, near CopenHill and Christiania

1 min read

Sunday 26 April 2026, our last day in Copenhagen. We start early to enjoy the city while it’s still quiet, with its canals and colourful facades in the morning light.

Reffen, street food heaven

Off to Reffen, the big street food market set on the old shipyards of Refshaleøen, by the water, not far from CopenHill and Christiania. Dozens of stalls from around the world in shipping containers, and a very laid-back atmosphere.

Fish and chips or fritto misto? Both

I couldn’t choose between English fish and chips and Italian fritto misto, so I had both, in Denmark. We also try Danish sausages. A small but important detail: the terraces are covered with nets to stop the seagulls helping themselves from your plate.

Practical info

  • Reffen: on Refshaleøen island, reached by harbour bus or bus from the centre.
  • Mainly open from spring to autumn, check opening times before you go.
  • Nearby: CopenHill, the ski slope on top of a power plant, and Christiania.
