Thursday 28 May 2026, a short getaway to Charmes, in the Vosges. Here the river running through town is the Moselle, long before it reaches us. And in the middle of a May heatwave, it’s the perfect spot.
Feet in the Moselle
We settle in at the L’Île aux 1000 Charmes campsite, right by the water. Several pitches have direct access to the river: perfect for paddling, and even swimming, the water is quite warm.
The Vosges canal and lamb chops at the Restaurant du Centre
Then a walk along the Vosges canal, which links the Moselle to the Saône, and dinner at the Restaurant du Centre in Charmes with good lamb chops. The evening ends under a starry sky.
