Monday 25 May 2026, the end of our stay in Italy. One last memory of Milan: a panoramic lift with a crazy view of the Duomo, the white marble cathedral and its dozens of spires. Probably the most impressive lift I’ve ever taken in Italy.
Night bus home through Switzerland
We head home on a night bus from Milan to Moselle, crossing Switzerland. Trying to sleep next to someone snoring the whole way is another adventure altogether. But we come back with plenty of memories: Maranello, Lake Como, the Highline and two evenings at San Siro.
Practical info
- The Duomo can also be visited via its rooftop terraces, on foot or by lift.
- Night bus Milan - Moselle: several companies link Italy to eastern France via Switzerland.
- Bring a pillow and earplugs for night journeys.
