Der Strand von Canella auf Korsika, heller Sand und türkisfarbenes Wasser

🇫🇷 Corsica - Ghisonaccia, La Voile Rouge in Solenzara and Canella beach

1 min read

Friday 1 May 2026, our first full day in Corsica. Waking up to sunshine in Ghisonaccia, on the eastern plain, with a “Benvenuti” to say good morning.

Sheep on the move and fields of immortelle

On the way we come across a flock of sheep being moved to new pastures, then walk among olive trees and fields of immortelle, the yellow flower of the Corsican maquis that smells so good. Flowers are everywhere at the beginning of May.

Lunch at La Voile Rouge, in Solenzara

For lunch we head to Solenzara and La Voile Rouge, almost with our feet in the water. To start, a very generous and delicious fritto misto, then an octopus that is simply perfect.

Canella beach and the sunset

In the afternoon, Canella beach, a small cove of pale sand and turquoise water just south of Solenzara. We end the day with a sunset and a barbecue, the best way to start the trip.
