🇫🇷 Corsica - Bavella pass, Corsican kid goat and the beaches of Santa Giulia and Tarco
·1 min read
Thursday 7 May 2026, a big loop between mountains and sea. First stop at the Bavella pass, one of the most beautiful landscapes in Corsica, with its granite needles and pine trees. The sky is cloudy, but it’s still magnificent.
We head back down to the sea for Santa Giulia beach, south of Porto-Vecchio, with its turquoise water and pale sand, then Tarco beach, wilder, on the way back.
Lunch is up in the mountains, in a stunning setting, at the inn on the Bavella pass: cabri corse, Corsican kid goat, a speciality of the island. A great meal.
A tip if you drive towards Bavella or Ghisoni: be really careful. You meet cows and wild boar roaming on the road, even on bends, and sometimes a camper van you end up following for an hour through the hairpins.
