🇫🇷 Corsica - Oysters and bouillabaisse at Aux Coquillages de Diana, near Aléria
·1 min read
Monday 4 May 2026, clouds roll in over Corsica and it looks like the bad weather is back. Perfect for a foodie day: we head to the Diane lagoon, near Aléria, about twenty minutes north of Ghisonaccia.
The Diane lagoon is known for its oysters and mussels, farmed in this lagoon connected to the sea. We start right at the producer’s, Pierre Pastre, on the island of Diana. It doesn’t get any fresher.
For lunch we stay on site, at Aux Coquillages de Diana, a restaurant built on the water in the middle of the lagoon. On the menu: a seafood platter with Diana mussels and oysters, then a reworked Corsican bouillabaisse made with the day’s catch.
I admit I love oysters and seafood far too much: I eat them in all weathers. And here, the setting is beautiful too.
